Asbestos Removal for The Gap Residential Properties

Asbestos removal in The Gap can help homeowners manage asbestos-containing materials when renovating, repairing or demolishing an existing building. T&L Asbestos Removal can assist with removing asbestos cement roofing, eaves, wall panels, garage sheets, fencing and other affected materials. Whether you are updating an older property or clearing materials before construction starts, assessing the suspected asbestos and planning appropriate removal and disposal are important steps.

The Gap is a leafy Brisbane suburb with detached family homes, established houses, extensions and properties on sloping blocks. Some older buildings may contain asbestos products in roof sheeting, external cladding, bathroom and laundry walls, garages or garden sheds. If you are renovating a home in The Gap or nearby areas such as Ashgrove, Keperra or Ferny Grove, check suspect materials before drilling, cutting or removing them. Identifying potential asbestos early can help avoid unexpected delays during your renovation.

If you are planning a home improvement project, preparing a property for demolition or dealing with damaged materials, T&L Asbestos Removal can help you work out the next steps. Contact our team to discuss your project, arrange an assessment and request a quote for asbestos removal in The Gap.

Common places for asbestos in The Gap homes and businesses

If a building in The Gap was built or altered before 2004, these are the spots to be careful with before you cut, drill, sand or knock anything down.

    In homes and sheds

    • Eaves, soffits and roof sheeting on 1960s to 1980s homes
    • Fibro linings in lower-level rooms, bathrooms and laundries
    • Garages, carports and sheds on sloping blocks
    • Under-house enclosures and storage areas
    • Fibro fencing and retaining structures
    • Insulation and lagging in roof spaces

Storm damage and repairs are a common trigger for disturbing old roof sheeting.

In shops, warehouses and industrial sites

    • Roof sheeting on small shops and workshops
    • Ceiling tiles and wall panels in older offices and clinics
    • Cladding on community and sporting buildings
    • Pipe lagging and switchboard backing
    • Material disturbed during fit-outs and repairs

Check before any fit-out, repair or demolition.

Think you've found asbestos? Leave it alone. Don't cut, drill, scrub or pressure-wash it, keep people and pets out of the area, and call us on 0423 648 557. We'll explain what to do next and arrange an inspection.

The Gap asbestos removal: common questions

What should I do if storm damage has broken an old roof in The Gap?

Keep people and pets away, don't sweep, hose or pick up broken pieces, and call us. We'll make the area safe and arrange removal and disposal before repairs start.

Can you work on steep hillside blocks in The Gap?

Yes. We plan safe access and working at height for sloping sites, contain the work area and clean up thoroughly.

How much does asbestos removal cost in The Gap?

Every job is different, so we price it after a site visit. Quantity, bonded or friable material, access, working height and disposal all affect the figure, and you'll get a written quote with no obligation.

Is it safe to leave asbestos where it is?

It can be, if it's in good condition, sealed and left alone. If it's damaged, weathered or about to be disturbed by building work, have it assessed and removed by a licensed contractor.

How long does an asbestos removal job take?

Small residential jobs are often done in a day or two, while larger houses and commercial sites can take several days up to a week. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.
